West Oregon Electric Cooperative has joined Touchstone Energy®. The Touchstone Energy brand represents a nationwide alliance made of more than 700 local, consumer-owned electric cooperatives in 46 states. Touchstone Energy co-ops collectively deliver power and energy solutions to more than 30 million members every day. Electric cooperatives distribute power for 75 percent of the U.S. land mass over 2.4 million miles of power lines. Electric cooperatives were established to provide electricity to rural America, and now make up the largest electric utility network in the nation. Touchstone Energy is the national brand identity for that network. The brand helps co-ops better communicate and demonstrate the cooperative difference.

This program is an alliance of electric cooperatives that have banded together to form the largest energy network in the nation. They are committed to delivering innovative and high-tech services, providing integrity and accountability, all with a recognized commitment to the community. We are excited to bring our members a new added benefits program in partnership with Touchstone Energy® Cooperative. These benefits include: a member discount program “Co-op Connections Card”, energy conservation program “Together We Save” and a fun addition to our website for kids, “CFL Charlie’s kid zone”.

With rising energy costs and the current economy, energy efficiency and conservation has become more important than ever. Together We Save is a national campaign designed to help members make small changes that add up to big savings on their energy bills. You can now join co-op members across the country who are doing something, anything to save energy right now. There are stories about what other people are doing to save money by saving energy, and you are able to watch how-to videos on lighting, sealing, and insulation. Touchstone Energy Kid’s Zone is another added benefit. It is a cool place where you can learn about electricity, energy savings and electrical safety. Energy is part of our daily lives. Every time you watch television or turn on a light you are using electricity. At the Touchstone Energy Kids Zone they have some fun games and activities that will help you learn about energy and energy efficiency. There is lots of information you can share with your family and friends.
