2012 West Oregon Electric Scholarships Available
Sam Hearing
High school seniors throughout the West Oregon Electric service area are eligible to apply for the Sam Hearing Scholarship. (Must live in a home served by West Oregon Electric and have an active account)
Seniors looking to further their education by attending any college, university, community college, or trade school can apply for one of four $500 scholarships. The West Oregon Electric Sam Hearing Scholarship Fund provides these scholarships to any graduating high school senior that lives in a West Oregon Electric household. The funds can be used for tuition or books.
At least one of the scholarships will be dedicated to an applicant planning to attend a trade school or community college. Applicants will be judged on academic performance, as well as community service.
Applicants are asked to complete a brief application form that will give a personal profile, two essays, and activities chart. The applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee of co-op members who donate their time to evaluate them and award the scholarships.
